ECWCD community project specialist
East County Water Control District and its community project specialist, Carla Ulakovic, were recently recognized at the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association’s 2013 Image Awards Ceremony for their public relations efforts.
The local Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Southwest Florida.
In the division for Public Relations Programs, Institutional Category, and the district’s Inaugural Wings Over Water (WOW) Festival received both an Image Award and a Judge’s Award. The WOW Festival was designed to help people discover Southwest Florida’s water, land and wildlife.
The district also received an Image Award and a Judge’s Award in the division for Public Relations Tools for its Stormwater Opportunities Presentation which resulted in a grant from South Florida Water Management District to build the Halfway Pond Pump Station Phase 1. This Stormwater Opportunities Presentation also won a Grand Image Award for the entire Public Relations Tools Division.
