Lee County Sheriff deputies arrested a Jacob Carr Wednesday after they said he shot a 2 or 3-week-old kitten with a BB gun.
Carr, 22, faces an animal cruelty charge. Sheriff Deputies said he was fighting with his sister in a residence at 518 Willard Avenue when he shot one of her kittens with a BB gun. The kitten had a wound in its rear leg consistent with a BB, according to a sheriff’s office report.
According to the Sheriff’s report; Carr told deputies he shot at his sisters kittens because he was afraid some might have rabies and could attack him. Deputies also noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Carr.
There were three BB guns found in the residence.
