Butler Places 35th in 3-meter Prelims at NCAA Diving Zones

Senior Maegan Butler (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan Zee/FAU) took 35th place in the 3-meter preliminaries at the 2013 NCAA Diving Zone B on Monday at the at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Butler finished with a score of 220.30 in the prelims as the top 18 times qualified for the finals of the event, Laura Ryan of Georgia place first in the finals with a score 345.95.

On Tuesday, Butler will compete in the women’s 1-meter board event scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with prelims and the finals beginning at 1:15 p.m.

Butler had a memorable senior campaign for the Eagles, earning the CCSA’s Most Outstading Diver of the Meet for the second consecutive year.  Butler won both the 1-meter and 3-meter board, and set a meet record in the 3-meter event at the 2013 CCSA Championships. The Orangeburg, N.Y product, also garnered four CCSA Diver of the Week awards.

The Green and Blue finished the regular season with a 9-2 dual meet record (4-0 CCSA) and won their fifth-straight CCSA Championship.
