Lee County Parks and Recreation will improve its recreation center floors and upgrade its registration system during the holidays. Due to the nature of the work, the centers will be closed temporarily and the registration system will be down briefly.
“Our visitor numbers typically are down between Christmas and New Years at parks & recreation, and we expect these improvements will minimally impact the communities we serve,” Director Dave Harner said.
Crews will strip and resurface gymnasium floors at Veterans Recreation Center in Lehigh Acres.
Closure will begin on Monday, Dec. 24. Veterans Recreation Center is expected to reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2.
WebTrac – the department’s online registration system– will have its software upgraded to create
a more user-friendly experience. The public will not be able to sign up for programs, events or
picnic shelters on Wednesday, Jan. 2, or Thursday, Jan. 3. Normal online registration is expected
to resume Friday, Jan. 4.
