Impounded Harley
to Be Raffled

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle impounded by Lee County sheriff’s deputies in a drug case is being raffled off to benefit teens in the community.

Proceeds from the rebuilt 1959 “Pan Head” motorcycle will benefit teens in the community through the Sheriff’s Youth Activities League (SYAL).

SYAL has successfully operated youth programs in the county since 2007, including the largest youth archery program in the state. And including the Veteran Park Teen Dances.

The motorcycle was scheduled to be scrapped but survived thanks to a program named T.O.O.L.S. (Teens, Outstanding, Occupation and Leadership Solutions), which matched local teens interested in mechanics with companies like Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers.

The motorcycle took six month to rebuild and is now worth more than $15,000.

The motorcycle will be raffled:

When: Sunday, December 2nd

Where: The Hot Rods & Hogs Car and Bike Show
Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center at 75 Taylor Street in Punta Gorda

Hot Rods & Hogs is the largest one-day car and bike show in Florida and traditionally attracts more than 20,000 spectators. The show runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

With only 1,000 tickets to be sold, this may be the best $20 you can spend.

According to Deputy Jeff Santella, SYAL Director, the raffle is a win for law enforcement and area teens.

“These ventures result in a hands-on experience that not only occupies idle weekend hours, but hopefully lead to future careers as well.”

  1. I’d like to buy some tickets for this bike, but live out of state (Ohio). If I pay for shipping will there be someone to assist on that end? My # is 330-612-4742 if this is easier to communicate. Thank You.
