It was in the Tice area of Fort Myers on Wednesday afternoon, Lee County Commissioner Brian Bigelow and 19 year old David Henley were seen in Bigelow’s car pulled up to a known drug house on Ione Avenue.
The deputy who saw it all go down talked to us Thursday afternoon. According to his report, he said he observed a possible drug transaction between a woman at the house and one of the men in Bigelow’s car. The deputy stopped the car after it failed to stop at a nearby intersection. The deputy says he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Henley was driving Bigelow’s rented vehicle and didn’t have a license. After a search, deputies found marijuana and cocaine on Henley. They found prescription pain pills in the car and Bigelow admitted they were his.
Henley was arrested for drug possession and driving without a license and Bigelow was cited for allowing an unauthorized person to drive a motor vehicle.
