Robert Lambert will be dealing with snakes near his home a little longer. The fire department decided to table a decision until they hear from their insurance company.
Lambert says for the past year and a half, rattlesnakes have been slithering around his home – mostly in the wooded lot next door from a lot that the Lehigh Acres Fire Department owns.
Lambert took his concerns to the Lehigh acres fire department last month, hoping they could help find a solution before someone gets hurt.
The fire department planned to decide on a solution – clear the land, hire a trapper or put up signs.
But instead, they will wait to hear from their insurance company regarding liability since it’s their land.
“Whichever way the insurance company says we are least liable is the way we will go,” said Lehigh Acres Fire Chief Don Adams.
