Tropical Storm Isaac
11 p.m. Update

Tropical Storm Isaac continues to pack winds of 45 mph and continues on a westerly track at 21 mph. It will be passing over the Leeward Islands this evening, while staying to South of Puerto Rico.

As conditions become a bit more favorable, development into a Category 1 hurricane is possible by early Friday morning.

As it has more interaction with land and even some mountainous terrain over Cuba, Isaac should start to weaken – possibly back into a Tropical Storm – before it regenerates back into a Category 1 hurricane while moving through the Florida Straits.

There’s still a lot of uncertainty when it comes to Isaac’s path. The bottom line is Tropical Storm Isaac will be a storm to watch closely for anyone in South Florida, and IF this storm were to affect our weather, it would most likely be early next week around Monday or Tuesday.
