During the recent Back To School Distribution Event at Lehigh Community Services (LCS), Lehigh Acres Fire Department (LAFD) was there helping out a pre-teen who became over heated and almost passed out.
The LAFD team including Lt. Anthony Rocco sprang into action and saved the pre-teen’s life. He was transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center for evaluation and medical care.
Prior to the event, Lehigh Community Services pre-registered more than 275 children. During the event, Christ United Methodist Church distributed gift cards for a pair of sneakers from Wal-Mart. New Life Assembly donated the backpacks w/supplies for 1st through 8th grade and the LAFD donated school supplies for teens.
According to Rae Nicely, the executive director of LCS, “We couldn’t do it without the generosity of the folks who have continued to support us for over five years now.”
