Celebrity Waiter Dinner

Byron Donalds, Candidate for US Congress, singing “Lean On Me”

The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce held its first Celebrity Waiter Dinner. In prior years, Lehigh Community Service was the lead agency that hosted this fundraiser.

The purpose for this fundraiser was to support the Chamber Scholarship fund.

This year’s theme was “Party Like A Rock Star,” held at Hodges University in Fort Myers. The programs music was from a local band, Hidden Agenda, and dinner music was from Sean Bright.

The celebrity waiters for the evening were: Marcia Brooks, Dean of Students Hodges University; Matt Caldwell, State Representative Dist 79; Ron Cutis, Captain at the Lee County Sheriff Office; Linda Doggett, Candidate for the Clerk of the Circuit Court;  Byron Donalds, Candidate for US Representative Dist 19; Larry Hart, Candidate for Lee County Tax Collector; Ray Judah, Lee County Commissioner Dist 3; Frank Mann, Lee County Commissioner Dist 5; Rea Nicely, Executive Director at Lehigh Community Services; Joe Pearson, Chairman of the Board of Directors Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce; Mary Rawl, Executive Director at the Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium; and Nathan Stout, Commissioner ECWCD Seat 5.

The night was full of laughs and fun. Miller and Nicely sang “I’m a Little Teapot” to Byron Donalds singing “Lean on Me.”

Eugen Borosch made a $200 donation and got Stout, Judah, Mann and Caldwell singing Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville (see photo below)

The grand price raffle was won be Bill Sheehan. The prize is a week’s vacation at Dover House on the east coast of Florida courtesy of Ruth Anglickis and Landex.

The highlight of the songfest was Pearson, singing “Sexy And I Know It” as dollar bill donations were stuffed in his pant’s pockets and his shirt.

Donalds won the best singing as Doggett was honored as the worst singer of the night. Both received a bag of monkey bread.

As the night ended Chamber members as well as guests were dancing to Hidden Agenda.
