Speed may have caused a man to lose control of his car and crash into a home in Lehigh Acres.
Florida Highway Patrol said that Jaime Giron Cardona, a Lehigh Acres resident, was going fast down Parkdale Boulevard, when he vaulted off the road, became airborne and crashed into the home.
Debris still litters the ground where just before 5 am Thursday morning (7/12/2012), Cardona lost control of his BMW and crashed into the house on Creuset Avenue.
“Just from the impact that you have seen and the debris on the road you can determine speed was a factor,” stated Sgt. William Harris.
Cardona was pronounced dead at Lehigh Regional Medical Center. No one was living in the home when the crash occurred.
