Janie R. Shaw, 87, of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Clare Bridge under the care of Hospice.
She was born in Arcadia, Florida on April 21, 1925, the daughter of Effie (Hall) and Melvin (Boots) Bankston.
She had lived in Lehigh Acres for the last eleven years after moving from Arcadia. She enjoyed reading and travel. She was a bookkeeper for the City of Arcadia, secretary at First Baptist Church and Boring Auto Company.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Ambler of Lehigh Acres and Cindy (Zig) Bays of Cooper City, Florida; son Clay (JoAnn) Shaw of Bonita Springs, Florida; her sister, Alice Faye (Derrell) Sapp of North Carolina and three grandchildren; Jessica Bays, Jay and Lee Ambler. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tommy Shaw.
The family is planning a Memorial Service to be conducted at a future date.
