Homestead Rd Construction Starts Oct 16

Alabama Road to South of Sunrise Blvd will finally start construction Oct 16

A list other projects:

– Gunnery and 8th turn lane improvement and signalization. Design is complete. Lee County commissioners have applied for Florida Department of Transportation safety funds for construction and are waiting to hear from FDOT as to if and when it may be funded.

– Sunshine and 8th roundabout. Design update needed. FDOT safety funds applied for construction.

– Sunshine and 12th turn lane improvement and signalization. Design is under way. Construction not yet funded.

– Leonard Blvd. and Haviland Ave. left lane. Design is complete. Construction is this year or next.

– Two to six-laned widening of SR 82 from Lee Blvd. to Shawnee Rd. Design is complete. Construction is funded in FY 2018. Construction cost is $6.7 million. Right-of-way acquisition is under way.

– Two to six-laned widening of SR 82 from Shawnee Rd. to Alabama Rd. Design is complete. Construction is funded in FY 2021.

– Two to six-laned widening of SR 82 from Alabama Rd. to Homestead Rd. Phase III is 90 percent with design underway. Right of way acquisition is funded in FY 2016 through FY 2018. Construction is funded in FY 2021.

– Two to four-laned widening of SR 82 from Homestead Rd. to Hendry County line. Phase II is 60 percent with design underway. Right of way acquisition is funded in FY 2016. Construction is not funded yet.

– SR 82 pavement markings from Sunshine Blvd. to Wildcat Drive. Design completed Construction is funded in FY 2016.

– SR 82 turn lane at Homestead Rd. Design complete. Construction is funded in FY 2016.

– Abel Canal Pathway Project Development and Environment Study. The Abel Canal Pathway study is from Harns Marsh to Joel Blvd. Project is funded in FY 2016. PD&E cost is $390,000.

– Leeland Heights Blvd. sidewalks from Georgia Rd. to Richmond Ave. Design is underway. Construction is funded in FY 2016. Construction cost is anticipated to be $1.5 million.
